Inspiration and Inclusion: The Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020

By Tom Wlodkowski

Key Takeaways

NBC Olympics is providing more accessible coverage of this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games than ever.
All accessible coverage will be available on X1, Xfinity Stream and Xfinity Flex.
Unprecedented 1,200 hours of Paralympic programming including our first-ever primetime broadcasts.

Every two years, the country comes together to witness one of the biggest celebrations of inclusion in the world: the Paralympic Games.

Tonight’s Opening Ceremony will kick off that moment in Tokyo and our incredible Team USA Paralympians will finally have their chance to compete on the world’s biggest stage after an unprecedented delay. As the athletes parade into the Paralympic Stadium, I feel so proud to be part of the company that will bring their stories of hard work, dedication, and determination home to millions.

Like so much that we’ve experienced over the last year, this will be a Paralympic Games like no one ever anticipated. But as I was cheering on Team USA and marveling at the incredible acts of sportsmanship during the Olympics ... and as I get ready to enjoy the stories of grit, resilience, and determination the Paralympics will surely bring ... I’m struck by how much we all need a little bit of inspiration.

So it has been our goal to bring that inspiration to the widest audience possible by delivering the most inclusive Olympic and Paralympic Games viewing experience ever.
