Xfinity’s Most Sustainable Packaging Yet, Made in the USA
From design and manufacturing to shipping and recycling, we designed our latest hardware packaging solution with conservation at its core.
Best-in-class products deserve best-in-class packaging. That’s why we’ve worked to make sure our connectivity and entertainment devices get to our customers quickly, safely, and – sustainably.
Xfinity’s latest packaging system is our most sustainable solution yet. We were committed to innovating every step of the way.
Designed with recyclability in mind
We’ve made a number of changes to our device packaging over the years as we have prioritized the needs of our customers while also driving efficiencies that benefit our business and the planet.
For our latest packaging solution, we set out to design a sleek, flat box that reduces materials and increases recyclability without sacrificing function.
We created a modular system of box sizes, each able to fit multiple products without the need for plastic sleeves or paper padding. The packaging uses only recyclable materials, as well as high-contrast and water-based ink, and includes tactile features for an easy and more accessible unboxing experience.
The space-saving design reduces the number of pallets we handle every year by 17,000 – about 880 truckloads – allowing us to operate smarter and save resources.
Manufactured in the U.S.
In addition to thinking about what went into the box, we challenged ourselves to think outside the box – including where its made and how it gets to our customers.
We shifted to a domestic manufacturing partner for packaging used in the U.S., eliminating overseas shipping and reducing emissions associated with transportation by approximately 90% compared to previous packaging systems.
By the time the Xfinity package arrives, customers can easily unpack and enjoy their new device and simply recycle the box.
With a proven track record of designing award-winning products and packaging solutions, we’re especially proud of this packaging. It’s simple, smart, and sustainable.
