Connectivity is transforming how we live, work, learn and play. The average home using Comcast’s powerful and secure WiFi has more than 20 connected devices with more than one billion total devices connecting over WiFi each year. The trajectory of data usage over WiFi continues to skyrocket and today’s super user is tomorrow’s mainstream.

Our mission is simple: ensure customers can use WiFi to easily connect to what they need and love, on any device, anywhere, now and in the future. That’s why we run over 700K speed tests on our WiFi gateways most days to make sure customers get the speed they need.

WiFi is how most Americans connect today and it is responsible for carrying the tonnage of the data on the Internet. We know that about 90% of smartphone traffic on Xfinity Mobile travels over WiFi, not cellular, and that’s also true for other carriers.

The XB10 gateway, coming in 2025, will be Comcast’s fastest and most powerful device yet – supporting WiFi 7 and DOCSIS 4.0 – and will deliver multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds over WiFi, with the unprecedented capacity to connect to 300 devices simultaneously. The XB10 also includes AI technology that will help ensure a consistent experience.

Comcast is bringing together the best of its converged network to deliver even faster speeds to mobile customers. The company launched WiFi Boost, which allows Xfinity Mobile and Comcast Business Mobile customers to get 10x faster speeds on WiFi hotspots on their mobile devices at home and on the go.

We're creating new ways for WiFi to make our lives more efficient. With WiFi Motion, we can turn WiFi-enabled devices - like printers and thermostats - into motion detection devices, allowing customers to monitor movement in their homes for added peace of mind.

Storm-Ready WiFi

Now customers can stay connected through anything, even during minor outages. Storm-Ready WiFi automatically switches to LTE connectivity and has a backup battery so customers can stay connected even in the event of a power outage. When not in backup mode, the device doubles as our most powerful WiFi extender yet. In 2024, Comcast was named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in rapid response.

Multi-Family WiFi

Designed to make the move-in process simple for property owners and tenants, the wall-mounted MBX1 gateway allows new residents to be instantly connected when moving in. Residents just scan the QR code on their gateway and they’re able to surf, stream and game immediately.

NOW WiFi Pass

Instant connectivity to WiFi, with no equipment necessary, to over 23 million Xfinity WiFi hotspots. NOW WiFi Pass allows users to connect two devices simultaneously for a period of 30 days, with unlimited data, and no contracts or fees.
